Jerry Brown, Synel Product Implementation Manager for EduReg, has been training in the last few weeks by riding shorter more intense rides of about 25 – 35 miles and including around 1000m of climbing.

This will help him with the lower intensity endurance riding that the Velo South 100 will entail. His diet consists mainly of Pasta, and Chicken dinners and Porridge or poached eggs with toast breakfasts. This Saturday was an early morning 7am ride and the weather was bright and sunny, a perfect day for training!

Jerry is entered to ride 100miles Velothon on the South Downs on 23rd  September this year as his father suffers from Alzheimer’s and he wants to raise awareness regarding the disease and to help support Alzheimer’s Society.

The Velo South 100 is all on closed roads with an estimated 15000 riders entered. 100 miles (161km) is a hard endurance ride and with 1386m of uphill climbing, it is not something that you can take on lightly. Also considering there will be upwards of 15,000 other riders all wanting their own space on the road!
